Burlish Park Primary School

  • Nursery Routine

    A typical day in Nursery

Children are welcomed at the Nursery door by a member of staff and helped to settle into their day. After hanging up their coats and self-registering, they can choose from a range of exciting activities and resources.

Throughout the day, children enjoy a balance of:

    • Child-led play and exploration
    • Small group and teacher-led learning
    • Indoor and outdoor activities
    • Music, movement and physical development sessions

    Snack time

Children enjoy a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables with milk or water. This is also a valuable time for conversation, helping children develop their speaking, listening and social skills.

    Story time

Each session ends with tidying up together, followed by stories, songs and rhymes.

    Forest School

Forest School is a valued part of Nursery life, giving children the opportunity to explore nature, build confidence and learn through hands-on experiences outdoors.

Children take part in regular sessions throughout the year and go outside in all weather conditions. Waterproof suits are provided by the nursery, but children should come dressed appropriately for the season.

    Parent Volunteers

We welcome parent helpers for Forest School sessions. If you are interested in helping regularly, please speak to a member of the Nursery team.
